Managing Change
Change needs to be understood and managed in a way that people can cope effectively with it. Change can be unsettling for staff. A better understanding of change is done through workshops and role play. This training helps staff to recognise what will be achieved or what has been achieved with change, why, and how they will know that the change has been achieved. Change must involve the people - change must not be imposed upon the people.
Managing Stress
Workplace stress affects the performance of the brain, including functions of work performance; memory, concentration, and learning. In the UK over 13 million working days are lost every year because of stress. Stress is believed to trigger 70% of visits to doctors, and 85% of serious illnesses (UK HSE stress statistics). In this modern world it is difficult if not impossible to change stressful situations. What we can do however is change and reduce our exposure to those stressful situations.
This training looks at causes of stress, the effects of stress on health and performance, stress in the work place, signs of stress and offers tools and ideas to enable stress relief. The day also looks at anger management. The training won't change the situation causing the stress, but it will, more importantly, enable you to change your reaction and relationship to the stressful situations.
